Fine Dining & Skydiving Proposal, Yarra Valley - VIC

The Experience

Your day starts on arrival at the drop zone, you’ll be briefed by your tandem masters on different aspects to the flight and jump including what to expect during the flight to height, your freefall, your decent under canopy and the landing.

While this briefing is taking place our staff will be secretly painting a 15m by 1.5m message on the landing zone to help you deliver an unforgettable proposal.

Once the briefing is over, it’s time to get geared up in preparation for your sky diving experience. You’ll be given a jumpsuit and your instructor will fit you into a harness. You’ll then head for the plane where you’ll conduct your practice exits.

As the aircraft leaves the airfield, you’ll be able to sit back and relax a little while taking in the stunning views of the Yarra Valley, the Dandenong ranges as well as Melbourne City and Port Phillip Bay.

Once the plane reaches height, it’ll be time to prepare you for the jump. You’ll leave the plane first so that you’ve got some time to prepare once landed. You may want to get down on bended knee and have a ring ready and waiting for your answer.

The door will open and as you leave the plane, you and your tandem master will accelerate through the air reaching terminal velocity - 220km/h. Freefall feels like riding a cushion of air similar to riding a big wave. In freefall, your senses will be able to take in stunning views as far as the eye can see. Then finally it's time to pull your parachute open. From the loud rushing of air that you hear all around you, the parachute ride is very different as you sail around the sky, gliding.

As your partner accelerates through their freefall they’ll receive a double dose of adrenalin when they spot a huge sign directly underneath them “Jane, will you marry me?” What a brilliant way to deliver your proposal!

Your day’s not over yet - after the exhilaration of the your jump there will be a bottle of champagne waiting for you on solid ground and you’ll be given some time to relax and reflect with a wine tasting and a 5 star fine dining lunch at the adjacent winery.
